Mashed Potatoes - Pomme Purée

Mashed potatoes - Pomme Purée - More butter than potatoes! Ok maybe not.

Method

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender

  2. Place the butter and milk in a small saucepan on medium heat and cook until the butter has melted

  3. Drain the potatoes into a moulin or potato ricer and place through into the saucepan

  4. Whisk the potatoes on a low heat for a couple of minutes

  5. Then add the butter/milk mixture and whisk until smooth and combined

  6. Taste and then season with salt and pepper to your taste

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes

  • 200g unsalted butter

  • 100mls whole or full fat milk

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Serves 4 people
